La Fouly

Bordering Italy and France, La Fouly opens its windows onto their neighbouring countries during the summer season with the Petit Col Ferret, the Grand Col Ferret and the Col du Ban Darray.

La Fouly’s name comes from the Latin word for leaf – “folium”. It is situated at an altitude of 5,250 ft at the foot of the Dolent, the Val Ferret’s emblematic mountain which rises to 12,533 ft and faces the Tour Noir and the A Neuve glacier. On the summit of the Dolent you will find yourself in France, Italy and Switzerland at the same time. La Fouly resort has four dairies in the pastures which still make their cheese in the traditional manner are proof of this.
