Know Before You Go
Location Highlight:

Chamonix

Chamonix-Mont-Blanc (usually shortened to Chamonix) is a resort area near the junction of France, Switzerland and Italy. At the base of Mont Blanc, the highest summit in the Alps, it's renowned for its skiing. Year-round, cable cars take visitors up to several nearby peaks with panoramic views, including Aiguille du Midi above town, and Pointe Helbronner, across vast glacier fields on the Italian border.

The group will convene in Chamonix, France, which serves as the official starting point for most TMB trekkers. The first day is designated for relaxation, allowing you and your family to soak in the breathtaking views, acclimate to the time change and altitude. On our second day, we will gather to formally introduce ourselves, review the daily itinerary for our trip, meet our French guides, and indulge in a welcome dinner (details below). The remainder of the day is free for you to explore this enchanting French city and procure any last-minute essentials for the journey ahead.

le monchu

Le Monchu Chamonix Mont-Blanc restaurant offers a nostalgic journey through time, adorned with an eclectic array of traditional artifacts that transport us to the ambiance of yesteryear mountain huts.

Nurtured by the cozy warmth emanating from a grand fireplace, the attentive waitstaff choreograph a captivating ballet while skillfully maneuvering the timeless raclette grills over glowing embers, which have become synonymous with Le Monchu's reputation! Raclette cheese, hot stone grills, and other Savoyard specialties absorb the aromatic essence of wood fire cooking, imparting delicate flavors and ideal juiciness and texture to dishes ranging from grills to fish and even vegetables.

We will enjoy a set menu offering a choice of appetizer, main course, and dessert.
